Minhwa_Chekgado_Dragon head, 45 x 70cm, Color on Lacquered Korean Paper

I decided to learn Minhwa professionally just because I wanted to paint Chekgado which basically means ‘Korean still life painting’ at the beginning. I was fascinated by the idea of drawing your personal belongings at that time.

I was dispatched to Saudi Arabia for some years and did only have a few stuff with me. For painting I only had a brush, a blue brush pen and a small dish of Korean blue ink. So I drew those to begin with.

This was how all it began and I think it was a good start.
